Main Activities

Throughout the life-time of the ERECI project the consortium will coordinate the following set of activities:

Networking Initiatives

  • Create a Research/innovation culture through the organization in each Egyptian region of networking meetings providing an opportunity to present various stakeholders in ERECI activities with opportunities resulting from the project’s development.

Study Visits & Mobility Programme for Innovation

  • The Consortium will organize various RE cluster study visits to support staff exchanges and mobility from Egypt to Europe to improve competencies and mutual learning from fields related to the identified RES and energy efficiency challenges. These trips will also encourage Egyptian researchers and entrepreneurs to learn from best practice and to foster and integrate European research and innovation networks in Egypt. The mobility programme meanwhile will provide an opportunity to build trust and create sustainable relationships among the cluster. The specific goal is to enable the new Egyptian cluster to learn more about the management models of successful European clusters in order to replicate key factors in Egypt.

Brokerage Events

  • To link the R&D actors with enterprises ERECI activities also consist of three brokerage events, two in Egypt and another one in Europe. By the face-to-face meetings methodology, the participants may take part to the setting up of technological partnership or high tech spin-offs and sign Bilateral Collaboration Agreements.

European Policy Roundtable

  • These meetings aim to build a new basis for international cooperation between European Business, RTD actors and their Egyptian counter-parts. European and Egyptian regional authorities and delegates participate in meetings aimed at setting up international cooperation agreements and to simplify the internationalization process by addressing and understanding the main hurdles and obstacles.
